The Future of Packaging was recently completed by Leading Futurists and Packaging & Technology Integrated Solutions LLC. The program was a nine month-effort that drew on the insights of the program’s sponsors—executives from leading packaging organizations, along with numerous outside experts.

The study identified global, regional and national change forces and drivers of change that will impact packaging over the next decade. Over 40 critical changes and technologies were identified that will impact packaging in the future. The program also presented seven scenarios for packaging’s future that the sponsors are using to explore challenges and opportunities for their businesses.

The role of packaging across the global value chain will continue to expand and rise in importance as consumers become more demanding and the supply chain needs are uncovered.
